Xavi to become Barcelona head coach after international break

Barcelona’s plan is for Xavi Hernández to become the club’s new manager after the international break, according to well-respected journalist Ferran Correas.

Barça are set appoint an interim boss for the upcoming games against Alavés, Dynamo Kyiv and Celta Vigo after Ronald Koeman was sacked, with club legend Xavi then expected to take over for the games that will take place after the international break.

Sergi Barjuan, coach of the Barça B team, could be appointed as the interim coach while the arrival of Xavi to the La Liga side is being negotiated.

Cadena Cope report that the Catalan club have to come to an agreement with Qatari club Al Sadd over the coming days in order to appoint Xavi as their new manager. Xavi has been working with Al Sadd since 2019 and has a contract until 2023.
