Former Barcelona player Xavi Hernández is the favourite to take over at Barcelona, according to multiple reports in Catalonia.
Xavi is currently in charge of Qatari outfit Al Sadd and is on president Joan Laporta’s list of candidates to replace Ronald Koeman at the helm.
Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo report that the former club captain is the favourite to become the next head coach of Barça.
Sergi Barjuan, coach of the Barça B team, would be the interim coach while the arrival of a new coach of the La Liga side is being negotiated.
Koeman was sacked after Barcelona lost to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday.
The Barça board made contact with Xavi regarding the role in recent weeks, according to Fabrizio Romano.
