Felipe set to join Nottingham Forest from Atlético Madrid

Atlético Madrid and Nottingham Forest are set to finalise a deal that will see Felipe move to the Premier League before the transfer window closes later today, report Marca.

The Brazilian defender was linked with a move away from the Estadio Metropolitano throughout January and it seemed as though he would join former teammate Matheus Cunha at Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, negotiations broke down between Wolves and the player, meaning the deal fell through.

Felipe has been struggling for minutes under Diego Simeone all season and Atlético Madrid are doing everything within their means to offload the 33-year-old. It is believed that Nottingham Forest will be Felipe’s next destination and he has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League outfit. Los Colchoneros are set to finalise the details of the agreement with the Tricky Trees today to complete the deal.

Nottingham Forest will be hoping that Felipe can help the club stay up in the Premier League this season.
