Barcelona are keen to sign Julián Araujo from LA Galaxy before the transfer window closes, report Relevo.
The Blaugrana are looking to reinforce the right-hand side of their defensive line. Héctor Bellerín is currently the only natural right-back at the Nou Camp. With the former Arsenal man linked with a move to Sporting Lisbon, the Catalan outfit are considering alternative options before the transfer window closes.
Barcelona have identified Araujo as a potential replacement for Bellerín. The 21-year-old is primarily a right-back, but feels confident going forward in attack, which would suit Xavi’s style of play.
Barça are aiming to sign the Mexican full-back initially on loan, with the deal including the option of purchasing him permanently at the end of the season.
While officially he would be incorporated in the Barcelona B, he would be expected to train with the first team regularly and make appearances for the senior side.
