Barcelona will make a move for Benjamin Pavard in the summer transfer window, report Mundo Deportivo.
The French defender has been linked with a move to the Catalan coast previously, but the Blaugrana never submitted a concrete offer to Bayern Munich.
Due to their poor financial standing, Barcelona are prioritising the transfer of Julián Araujo from LA Galaxy, who would arrive on loan, with Els Culers having the option of purchasing the player permanently at the end of the season.
Nonetheless, Pavard will remain on Barcelona’s radar and they will continue monitoring his situation in Bavaria. Bayern Munich signed full-back João Cancelo from Manchester City this transfer window, who will be competing with the Frenchman for the right-back position.
Pavard’s contract with the Bundesliga outfit is set to expire in June 2024 and Barcelona hope that they can sign him at cut price by the time the summer transfer window rolls around.
