Elche and Barcelona agree on Álex Collado loan deal

Barcelona and Elche have arrived at an agreement that will see Álex Collado go on loan to Los Franjiverdes, as broken by Fabrizio Romano.

Multiple clubs have shown interest in signing the 23-year-old, but it appears as though Elche have won the race to secure his services for this season.

According to the agreement, Collado will be an Elche player until June 2023, but Los Franjiverdes do not have the option to purchase him permanently once the deal has expired.

Elche will pay 50% of the Spaniard’s wages.

Coming through La Masia, Collado has made two appearances for the Barcelona senior side so far in his career. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Granada, where he made 17 appearances and scored two goals.

Both Xavi and Collado agreed that the 23-year-old would struggle for game time at the Blaugrana this season and a loan spell would be the best option for his development.
