Ronald Araújo could potentially play at 2022 World Cup, says doctor

Yesterday it was communicated that Ronald Araújo underwent a successful surgery in Finland on his right leg adductor injury by Dr. Lempainen.

Radio Marca conducted an interview with specialist in the field Dr. Pedro Luis Ripoll on the possibility of Ronald Araújo playing at the World Cup in Qatar later this year with Uruguay:

“Dr. Lempainen works with us in our professional team of Ripoll and De Prado. He is a surgeon of the highest international level and this player has the opportunity to reach the World Cup.”

He believes that the 23-year-old made the right decision to have surgery:

“When a muscle injury affects the tendon, the best thing to do is to have surgery.”

Barcelona are currently facing an injury crisis following the international break. With Ronald Araújo, Jules Koundé, Sergi Roberto and Héctor Bellerín all sidelined, Xavi could end up starting Gerard Piqué against Mallorca on the weekend.
