Diego Simeone: Spanish teams can find it difficult in Europe

Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone spoke to the media after his side’s 3-2 win over Feyenoord on Wednesday night.

“I think all the other teams [except Real Madrid] find it difficult. Sevilla found it difficult… Barcelona have in recent years and we find it difficult,” the Argentine tactician said in words transcribed by AS.

“In the Lazio game, we coped well, but we went to bed at the end. Today we managed to avoid the scenario with the opposition goalkeeper going up to score and the fear that it’s going to happen again. They scored two goals against us and we have to improve.

“Real Madrid manage to compete extremely well in Europe because they have extraordinary young players like Camavinga, Bellingham, Tchouaméni, Vinícius, Rodrygo, but other teams can find it difficult to compete.”
