AC Milan are planning to enter the race to sign Houssem Aouar, report Estadio Deportivo.
Aouar’s contract with Lyon is set to expire at the end of the season and the French midfielder has shown no sign that he wants to renew his deal at the club.
Real Betis have been linked the 24-year-old for the last couple of months and reportedly they have reached a verbal agreement that would mean that he could join Los Verdiblancos this coming summer on a free transfer.
However, it appears as though AC Milan are also keen to secure the services of the Frenchman and may be willing to sign the player as soon as January.
Lyon would be eager to offload Aouar this month as it would allow them to receive a transfer fee for his departure.
The next 25 days will be critical for Aouar’s future and Real Betis may need to submit a bid in order to stay in the race to sign the France international.
