And, as things stand, it is Los Blancos who find themselves firmly in control of proceedings.
This comes amid nothing short of a masterclass of an attacking display on the part of the aforementioned Vinícius Jr.
First, with just five minutes on the clock, the Brazilian opened the scoring, courtesy of a stunning long-range drive into the far corner of the visitors’ net.

And, safe to say, Vinícius’ brilliance has not gone at all unappreciated on the part of his side’s fanbase.
Taking to social media in their absolute droves, the Blancos faithful have lavished praise on an oft-criticised performer, with many having gone as far as to make clear their feelings that prime summer transfer target Kylian Mbappé is not needed, owing solely to the magic possessed in Vinícius’ boots:
