A pair of Barcelona stars found themselves at the heart of a serious scuffle in the aftermath of Sunday’s World Cup finale.
This comes after Argentina’s Leandro Paredes completely lost the run of himself following the full-time whistle in a testy affair in New York.
Spain are of course fresh off etching their names indellibly into World Cup history, courtesy of a 1-0 downing of previous champions Argentina. Owing to a solitary extra-time strike on the part of Ferran Torres, La Roja secured just a 2nd world title in the nation’s storied footballing history.
As alluded to above, though, post-match, it was another pair of Barcelona players who found themselves involved in the thick of the action.
After Argentina’s defeat was confirmed, Leandro Paredes floored Eric García, before angrily shoving the throat of the defender upon his return to his feet.
Blaugrana teammate Gavi then attempted to intervene, only to be thrown to the turf, too, as chaos erupted between the two sets of players in an ugly close to proceedings.
