Who will replace Pacheta at Villarreal?

As reported by Marca, Villarreal have parted ways with their manager for the second time this season. José Rojo Martín, commonly known as Pacheta sacked just two months after his arrival with Villarreal currently 13th in the league.

Pacheta replaced Quique Setién at the start of September, but the manager from Burgos has been unable to turn around the 2021 Europa League winner’s fortunes.

The former Real Valladolid manager has taken charge of just 12 games, winning just two games in La Liga, twice in the Europa League, and once in the Copa del Rey.

Marcelino in the running

It is expected that former manager Marcelino, who left the club in 2016, will become the new manager, and the Castellón outfit hope to secure his return in the coming days.
