Valencia target Sevilla striker Rafa Mir as Edinson Cavani’s possible replacement

Valencia are monitoring strikers as Edinson Cavani could leave Mestalla this summer, and Relevo claim that the club have identified Sevilla forward Rafa Mir as a potential replacement.

The 36-year-old Uruguayan has one year left to run on his contract and he has several teams showing interest in him. Relevo report that Cavani has recently rejected offers from Saudi Arabia, with clubs eager for him to move to the Saudi Pro League. Last season, the former PSG man netted seven goals in 27 appearances, per FBref.

Rafa Mir is contracted to Sevilla until June 2027 and Relevo understand that Valencia may have to pay around €4m for his services, but the departure of Cavani must be confirmed before the club pursues the signing of Mir. The 26-year-old scored eight times in 36 appearances for the Andalusian outfit last season.
