Héctor Bellerín to sign long-term contract with Real Betis

Relevo are reporting that Héctor Bellerín has signed a long-term contract that will allow him to finish his career at Real Betis. The 28-year-old recently left Sporting CP after the expiry of his contract.

The former Arsenal right-back featured 32 times for Los Verdiblancos across the 2021-22 campaign, per Transfermarkt and it was a season where he tasted glory when Betis won the Copa del Rey, in a penalty shoot-out against Valencia.

Last season Bellerín featured just seven times for Barcelona in all competitions. This prompted a change of scenery for the Spanish defender, crossing the border to join Sporting on a five-month contract with the option to renew for two more seasons. But Bellerín had his heart set on a return to the Andalusian capital of Seville.

Betis have also re-signed former Leicester City forward Ayoze Pérez and Relevo have stated that the club is waiting for the green light over financial fair play to sign more players in the coming weeks.
