Thibaut Courtois receives fresh message of support from Arsenal star

Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has today been on the receiving end of a classy message of support from a member of the goalkeeping ranks at Premier League giants Arsenal.

As much, of course, comes fresh off an altogether difficult 24 hours for the Belgian.

Amid ongoing efforts to ramp up his recovery from an ACL injury suffered last August, Courtois was forced to limp out of training at Valdebebas on Tuesday.

And, following an ensuing round of medical tests, it was confirmed that the former Chelsea man has been ‘diagnosed with a ruptured internal meniscus in his right knee’.

Courtois has since gone under the knife, with his season having been all but ended as a result.

Messages of support, in turn, have poured in for Courtois over the course of the last 24 hours, as players, managers and fans alike wish the Belgian all the best in his latest comeback attempt.

And, as alluded to above, joining such voices this afternoon was a headline member of the first-team setup at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The player in question? David Raya.

Speaking after linking up with Luis de la Fuente’s Spanish national team squad this week, Raya sent a public message the way of his fellow shot-stopper, as gathered by El Chiringuito TV:

“Courtois has been the best goalkeeper in recent years,” he began. “I hope he recovers soon.”
