The Women’s World Cup begins on Thursday 20 July and the squads are beginning to be announced for the 32 competing nations.
As reported by Relevo, changes and alterations can be made to squads up until July 11th, when they then become official.
Spain are well set up going into this World Cup, and are the favourites to qualify from their group into the knockouts. Jorge Vilda has called up 30 players at the moment, with a large pool of talent to choose from. Spain achieved their best World Cup run in 2019, when they reached the round of 16.
England have already submitted their final confirmed list of players, and go into this World Cup amongst the favourites to win the tournament. This is due to their incredibly strong showing at the last Euros, where they were crowned eventual champions.
This summer’s World Cup is sure to live up to the billing, and with more eyes on Women’s football than ever before, fans from all over the world are eagerly waiting for 20 July.
