A report from L’Équipe claims that Atlético Madrid are in advanced talks for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. The Morocco international has been previously linked with several Premier League clubs as well as Barcelona.
Amrabat only has one year left on his contract with Fiorentina and with the Italian outfit failing to achieve a European spot for this coming season, it looks as though the 26-year-old wants to move on from the club this summer. He is refusing to sign a contract extension, and the Italian team are open to selling him for a fee in the region of €20m, according to Marca.
After an excellent World Cup for Morocco in Qatar, Amrabat caught the attention of many major clubs across Europe, but Atlético Madrid appear to be the leading candidate for the midfielder’s signature.
Diego Simeone wants a new defensive midfield player, AS report, with the club looking to move on Geoffrey Kondogbia this window.
