Speaking to AS, Saúl Ñíguez’s agent discussed the current situation of his client amid constant speculation regarding his future.
The Spanish midfielder has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with Barcelona and Liverpool reportedly interested in signing the player.
Joshua Barnett confirmed his client has the opportunity to leave Atlético this summer, with the Catalan club pushing for a swap deal involving Antoine Griezmann.
“Saúl will do with his future what is best for Saúl,” Barnett said.
Barnett added that “nothing has been decided, Saúl has as many options to stay as to leave”. The agent acknowledges the possibility of an exchange with Barça, however, the agreement between Saúl and Barcelona is far from a done deal, as of today.
Saúl still has five years left to run on his contract at the LaLiga champions having signed a nine-year deal in 2017.
