Those in a position of power at La Liga giants Real Madrid intend to appeal the ban handed down to attacking star Vinícius Jr. by the RFEF.
This comes after the Brazilian was heavily pushed for his actions this past weekend.
Wide-man Vinícius was for his part shown a straight red card on Saturday, in Real Madrid’s post-international break return to action against Villarreal.
En route to a 1-0 Blancos triumph, the 26-year-old saw a 2nd-half goal disallowed following a VAR check. To compound matters, Vinícius was then sent off for pulling the hair of Villarreal’s Nathan Saliba in the same sequence.
Following a tense wait for club and player alike, the sanction awaiting the South American was in turn announced on Wednesday. Vinícius has been banned for four domestic fixtures, including next week’s El Clásico.
Real Madrid, however, are not willing to accept this punishment without a fight… This comes amid confirmation on the part of journalist Fabrizio Romano that:
‘Real Madrid plan to appeal Vinicius Jr’s suspension for four games after RFEF verdict.’
