The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid are preparing contract renewal offers to three important members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
That’s according to the reliable José Félix Díaz of Marca, who has this afternoon provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Díaz points towards all of Luka Modrić, Nacho, Lucas Vázquez and Ferland Mendy as courting interest from the Saudi Pro League with a view to the summer.
As things stand, exits for any of the four cannot be ruled out, with lucrative proposals expected to be put before each over the months ahead.
And yet, in the case of veteran trio Modrić, Vázquez and Nacho, Real Madrid are ready to do their part in convincing all three to stay put.
This comes amid confirmation that ‘the three will receive a proposal for one more season of contract with Real Madrid’.
Nacho’s renewal offer is already understood to have been sent the way of his entourage, with similar proposals to both Modrić and Vázquez expected to follow in short order.
This comes ahead of the expiration of their respective terms in the summer.
It now remains to be seen what the desire of each player entails beyond the summer, though there is confidence in the camp at the Santiago Bernabéu that all three, in the end, will go on to commit to another year with the club.
In the case of Ferland Mendy, meanwhile, his sale has not yet been ruled out, amid Los Blancos’ ongoing efforts to bring in Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich.
