Osasuna dealt injury blow ahead of Real Madrid clash

Osasuna have been dealt an altogether considerable blow on the personnel front, ahead of the club’s upcoming showdown with Real Madrid.

This comes amid confirmation that a key member of their midfield ranks has been ruled out of the next round of La Liga fixtures.

The player in question? Aimar Oroz.

Oroz, for his part, has played an absolutely pivotal role for Osasuna across the season to date.

All told, he has taken to the pitch in each of the Rojillos’ 28 league outings, featuring from the off in all but four.

This past weekend, however, en route to an eventual 2-0 defeat at the hands of Girona, the 22-year-old picked up an injury.

As per an ensuing statement across Osasuna’s website and social media platforms:

‘Aimar Oroz underwent tests at the University of Navarra Clinic to assess the extent of the muscle discomfort he suffered after last Saturday’s match against Girona FC. The tests carried out have confirmed that the midfielder suffers a muscle injury in his rectus femoris of his left leg.’

Marca, in turn, have confirmed that the extent of the problem means that Oroz will play no part on Saturday afternoon, when Jagoba Arrasate’s troops welcome table-topping Real Madrid to El Sadar.
