Real Madrid star agrees new 5-year contract

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week agreed to commit his long-term future to the capital club.

This comes amid confirmation that Jude Bellingham is all set to put pen to paper on a new contract at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Midfielder Bellingham has of course continued to play a leading role for Real Madrid across the early months of the new season. Already one of the first names on the team sheet of new boss José Mourinho, the Englishman has featured from the off in nine of Los Blancos’ 10 fixtures between La Liga and the Champions League.

Along the way, Bellingham has chipped in with three goals and two assists, acting as one of the most consistent performers in Mourinho’s ranks.

Fresh off a spectacular showing with England at this past summer’s World Cup, it should in turn come as little surprise to learn of Florentino Pérez and co. preparing to reward their engine room standout.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, citing Real Madrid insider José Félix Díaz:

‘Jude Bellingham agrees to sign a new long-term contract at Real Madrid. Verbal agreement in place, formal steps yet to happen, but next in line after Arda Güler and Courtois.’
