Real Betis ready to reignite Patson Daka pursuit in the summer

The powers that be at La Liga outfit Real Betis have already got one eye on the summer transfer market, keen to add to the club’s options at centre-forward.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, as cited by Diario Sport, who point towards Betis as being ready to reignite their pursuit of a January transfer target.

The player in question? Patson Daka.

Leicester City hitman Daka, for his part, was identified as a backup option by Manuel Pellegrini and co, in the case of the club’s efforts to land either Chimy Ávila or Cédric Bakambu falling through.

With both Willian José and Borja Iglesias potentially in line for permanent summer departures from the Estadio Benito Villamarín, though, the Verdiblancos are already scouring the market for further attacking reinforcements with a view to the 2024/25 campaign.

And Daka, whose performances across limited minutes in The Championship have drawn ‘magnificent reports’ from Betis’ scouting staff, is one option being closely monitored.

Significantly, it is also suggested that the Zambian international himself would be open to the prospect of a move to La Liga.
