Real Betis afforded double injury boost before Girona

La Liga outfit Real Betis have been afforded some timely positive news on the personnel front this week.

This comes amid confirmation that two high-profile members of the club’s first-team squad have returned to the training pitch.

The players in question? Marc Bartra, and Cédric Bakambu.

Defender Bartra has not taken to the pitch for Betis since all the way back in October, after being forced under the knife to solve an Achilles issue.

January arrival Bakambu, meanwhile, has been sidelined for around a month, owing to a calf injury suffered during a Europa Conference League meeting with Dinamo Zagreb.

As confirmed by Mundo Deportivo, though, both were in attendance at the Real Betis Sports City on Tuesday, to undergo individualised training sessions.

Bakambu, for his part, is expected to be back at the disposal of boss Manuel Pellegrini for the Verdiblancos’ post-international break return to action, when they make the trip to Catalunya for a meeting with high-flying Girona.

Bartra, meanwhile, will remain absent from matchday duties for some time yet, but could mark his return to competitive action around the middle of April.
