Barcelona prodigy Pau Cubarsí has provided an insight into the members of Xavi’s squad to have provided the most help in his integration into the club’s first-team setup.
Youngster Cubarsí has of course exploded onto the scene in Catalunya across the year to date.
After first being afforded a chance to impress by boss Xavi amid a personnel crisis at the heart of Barcelona’s backline, La Masia’s latest sensation has since gone on to establish himself as a near-undisputed first-team starter.
Just last week, Cubarsí, at just 17, scooped Man of the Match honours owing to a frankly remarkable display en route to Barca sending Napoli packing from the Champions League.
In turn, it did not even mark a surprise when the defender was afforded a maiden call-up to the Spanish senior squad for the country’s upcoming friendlies against Colombia and Brazil.
Speaking in an interview released across Barcelona’s social media platforms on Tuesday, Cubarsí, as a result, was drawn on a whole host of topics relating to his breakout couple of months.
And one question to have drawn a particularly interesting response came upon the stopper being asked which of his new teammates has helped him most across the season to date.
“Everyone has helped me because we are a great group and a great team,” Cubarsí began. “But above all Ronald [Araújo]. He always helps me tactically and personally in the locker room.”
He went on to add:
“Also João Cancelo, who is one of the funniest on the team. He always gives happiness.”
