Alavés dealt injury blow ahead of Real Sociedad clash

La Liga outfit Alavés have today been dealt a blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that a key member of the club’s midfield ranks has picked up an injury.

The player in question? Jon Guridi.

Guridi, for his part, has played a pivotal role in the solid campaign being enjoyed by Alavés to date.

All told, across the Babazorros’ 29 La Liga outings, the Spaniard has featured from the off in all but two, chipping in with a none-too-shabby four assists along the way.

Safe to say, then, that the Alavés faithful will no doubt be concerned to hear of confirmation that Guridi is set for an incoming spell out of action.

As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms, the 29-year-old has picked up an adductor strain:

‘The midfielder left the morning training with discomfort and the tests carried out subsequently determined that he suffered from a strain of the adductor of his left leg and his progress is pending.’

Though it is unclear just how long Guridi is expected to be ruled out, his participation in Alavés’ post-international break showdown with Real Sociedad has been thrown very much up in the air.
