With negotiations ongoing between RB Leipzig and Barcelona regarding the transfer of Spain’s Euro 2024 star Dani Olmo, the German side are putting up a fight in an effort to keep the 26-year-old star.
Following on from recent reports that the Catalan side have upped their bid in order to secure the midfielder’s signature, separate reports are emerging that negotiations may not be progressing as they seem.
As per Diario AS, Leipzig’s sporting director Rouven Schröder has insisted that his side are in no rush to sell, and under no pressure to give in to Barcelona’s sustained efforts.
Leipzig coach Marco Rose said: “The player has a value that he earned with us. He has developed wonderfully. Everyone knows what Dani Olmo is worth. Any club that wants him must make an offer in line with this.“
The coach then went further to declare that his side are in no rush to make a move happen and that they are happy to continue with him next season.
It remains to be seen whether these statements are truthful, or whether they have been made to push Barcelona to make an even bigger offer to the German side.
The one thing we know is that these statements are likely to do little to deter the Catalan side from continuing in their pursuit of the former La Masia prospect.
