As communicated by Mundo Deportivo, Rayo Vallecano have made an offer to sign former Atlético Madrid striker Diego Costa.
The Madrid-based club are offering the Spanish-Brazilian player a €1 million-a-year contract plus add-ons.
Diego Costa has been without a club since he was released from Atlético Mineiro in January 2022, where he scored four goals in 15 appearances.
The Estadio de Vallecas will not be unfamiliar territory for him, having been sent on a 6-month loan spell from Atléti to Rayo Vallecano back in 2012.
A transfer to Los Franjirrojos could see him link-up with former Atlético Madrid teammate Radamel Falcao.
Rayo Vallecano finished four points above the relegation zone last season and are hoping to solidify their place in La Liga.
Diego Costa has won the league with Atléti both in 2014 and 2021 and would bring invaluable experience to the team based in southern Madrid.
Earlier this week it was reported that Rayo Vallecano are close to completing a loan deal for Sergio Camello. However, there has been no update on whether a deal has been agreed with Atlético Madrid as of yet.
