Radamel Falcao scores 96th minute winner for Rayo Vallecano

Rayo Vallecano snatched a late, late victory against Athletic Club at San Mamés on Tuesday night.

Rayo went 1-0 up early on through an Álvaro García goal before the home side equalised thanks to an own goal from Rayo player Pathe Ciss.

New signing Radamel Falcao scored the winning goal in the 96th minute for Rayo after a right-wing cross from Bebé. The Colombian striker has scored two goals in two games since joining the club as a free agent.

Falcao, 35, spoke to Gol after the game at a wet San Mamés in Bilbao.

“I am very happy and also grateful to the whole club and to my team-mates. It was very important to get the win at a great ground like San Mamés. Bebé’s cross was excellent,” he said.
