Predicted Uruguay XI vs Portugal

Uruguay will play Portugal later today in the second round of the World Cup group stages.

La Celeste drew 0-0 in their first game of the competition against South Korea and they will be looking to beat Portugal to keep alive their hopes of reaching the round of last 16.

Diego Alonso is expected to start two players from La Liga. Atlético Madrid’s José María Giménez will most likely partner with Diego Godín at the heart of Uruguay’s defence, while Federico Valverde of Real Madrid is expected to play on the right flank of midfield.

Valencia’s Edinson Cavani will probably start the match on the bench.

Predicted Uruguay lineup against Portugal

AS predict that Alonso will field the following starting XI against Portugal: Sergio Rochet – Martín Cáceres, Diego Godín, José María Giménez, Mathías Olivera – Federico Valverde, Lucas Torreira, Rodrigo Bentancur, Nicolás de la Cruz – Darwin Nuñez, Luis Suárez.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8 pm CET.
