Predicted Portugal XI vs Uruguay

Portugal play Uruguay later today in the second round of the World Cup group stages.

Portugal defeated Ghana 3-2 in their opening game of the competition and a win will see Fernando Santos’ side progress to the round of last 16.

The Portuguese coach is expected to make a couple of changes to the team that started on Thursday. He will most likely field two players from La Liga, namely William Carvalho of Real Betis and João Félix of Atlético Madrid.

William Carvalho, who did not start against Ghana, will give Portugal stability in midfield as he is more defensively minded than Otávio.

Predicted Portugal lineup against Uruguay

AS predict that Santos will field the following starting XI against Uruguay: Diogo Costa – João Cancelo, Rubén Dias, Pepe, Raphaël Guerreiro – Bernardo Silva, Rubén Neves, Bruno Fernandes, William Carvalho, João Félix – Cristiano Ronaldo.

The match is set to kick-off at 8 pm CET.
