Porto enter the fray for departing Real Betis star

Portuguese giants Porto are expressing a keen interest in the signature of a soon-to-be former member of the defensive ranks at Real Betis.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Juan Miranda as the player in question.

Miranda, for his part, has long been primed to bring a close to the Betis chapter of his career this summer.

As much comes after negotiations between the parties over a renewal to his expiring contract terms failed to give rise to an agreement.

Come the end of the month, the left-back will in turn become a free agent.

A whole host of European clubs have previously been tipped as potential landing spots for Miranda, held in high regard throughout the continent.

And, as alluded to above, if the latest word doing the rounds on Sunday is anything to go by, then a new suitor appear ready to throw their hat in the ring.

As per Fabrizio Romano:

‘FC Porto have genuine interest [in Miranda] and [have] asked for deal conditions.’

The Primeira Liga heavyweights are on the lookout for fresh blood at left-back ahead of the predicted departure of Wendell, with Miranda having seemingly emerged as a leading target.

Fellow Portuguese outfit Sporting CP, on the other hand, ‘are not working on this deal’ at this moment in time.
