Official: Sevilla announce defender sale

La Liga outfit Sevilla have this week announced a departure from the club’s first-team ranks. This comes amid confirmation of Juanlu Sánchez’s move to the Premier League being made official.

Versatile full-back Juanlu has of course seen his future take its place centre stage in the media chatter across Spain over recent weeks.

After word was forthcoming that Bournemouth had set their sights firmly on the signature of the 22-year-old, Sevilla – eyeing much-needed funds courtesy of the transfer market – opened the door to negotiations.

The two clubs have spent several weeks now haggling over the final details of the transfer, with a view to Juanlu ultimately taking his talents to the Vitality Stadium.

And as alluded to above, on Thursday, Bournemouth have officially landed their man. As per a statement across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms:

‘Sevilla FC and AFC Bournemouth have reached an agreement for the transfer of Juanlu Sánchez to the English club. This marks
the end of a decade with Sevilla, almost half his life.’
