Official: Real Betis secure first summer signing

La Liga outfit Real Betis have early this week announced a fresh addition to the club’s first-team ranks. The player to have put pen to paper on contract terms with the Verdiblancos comes in the form of Facundo Bernal.

Bernal, for his part, is a 22-year-old midfielder who has long been held in high regard across South America.

Since linking up with Brazilian giants Fluminense back in the summer of 2024, the Uruguayan has gone on to play a leading role for the Tricolor.

His stellar exploits at the base of midfield culminated in mounting interest from across the water in Europe, amid the understanding that Bernal had emerged as something of a man in demand this summer.

As alluded to above, though, on Monday, the race for his services has come to a definitive end.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of La Liga side Real Betis:

‘Real Betis Balompié and Fluminense FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Facundo Bernal. The Uruguayan midfielder becomes the first green-and-white reinforcement of this summer and signs until 2031.’
