Barcelona star Pedri has come in for a whole host of criticism from across the world of football on Monday evening.
This comes owing to the level of the performance produced by the midfielder in Spain’s high-profile showdown with European rivals Portugal.
La Roja are of course currently locked in action at the World Cup, vying for a place in the competition’s quarter-finals in a meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.
The aforementioned Pedri was afforded a starting berth for the fixture, from his customary role in the middle of the park.
To say that the 23-year-old has since struggled to showcase his trademark brilliance, however, would be something of an understatement.
Pedri has looked completely off the pace of things, sloppy in possession, wayward with his passing, and too easily bypassed when not on the ball.
And as alluded to above, such shortcomings have not gone at all unnoticed on the part of those tuning in for the matchup.
Pedri has been widely condemned by fans and the media alike, amid pleas for the Spaniard to step up in the moment his country need him most.
