La Liga giants Barcelona have early this week announced a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks at academy level.
This comes amid confirmation of Joni Hernández putting pen to paper on contract terms in Catalunya’s capital for the seasons ahead.
Joni, for those not familiar with his name, is an 18-year-old attacker, who chiefly lines out on the left, before cutting inside onto his favoured right foot.
The starlet has long been considered a potential star in the making across Spain, hailed for his efforts in the colours of CD Tenerife.
Such talents had given rise to mounting speculation surrounding a potential summer transfer for Joni, amid widespread interest in the signature of the youngster.
And as alluded to above, on Monday, one such suitor have beaten out the competition to strike a deal.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of La Liga champions Barcelona:
‘FC Barcelona and CD Tenerife have reached an agreement for the transfer of Joni Hernández. The 18-year-old from the Canary Islands has signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2030, and will join Juliano Belletti’s Barça Atlètic at the start of the 2026/27 preseason.’
