Official | Matheus Cunha joins Wolves

As communicated on their official website, Matheus Cunha has joined Wolves from Atlético Madrid.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Estadio Metropolitano for the last couple of weeks as Los Colchoneros aim to offload unwanted players in order to balance the books following their elimination from all European competitions in the autumn.

Cunha joined Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2021 and had a promising start to his career in a red-and-white shirt. However, he failed to score a single goal in his 17 appearances in all competitions this season.

The Brazilian striker joins Wolves on loan, with the club obliged to purchase the player at the end of the season for a fee believed to be in the region of €50m.

Julen Lopetegui hopes that Cunha can help contribute to Wolves’ fight against relegation as they find themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table.
