Atlético Madrid have announced that club-captain Koke has signed a new contract, which commits him the club until June 2025. The deal also includes an option to extend for further seasons, however this is dependant on the amount of appearances he makes in the next season.
After weeks of negotiations, the Spaniard put pen to paper and dismissed any suggestions that he would be leaving the club. Koke has reached his salary to stay at the club on a consistent basis.
The midfielder has spent his entire career with the Spanish giants. This season the 32-year-old has grabbed five assists in 39 competitive games.
The playmaker has 47 goals and 116 assists in 625 games at professional level. During this period, Koke has also made 70 international appearances.
In the press release, Koke admitted that he has received plenty of proposals from various clubs, but had no intention of leaving his boyhood club.
He said: “I’ve had many opportunities but I never wanted to leave my home.”
