La Liga champions Barcelona have on Friday announced the club’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
This comes amid confirmation of the Blaugrana having sealed a big-money deal for Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon.
The name of winger Gordon has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several days now, after word was forthcoming that Deco and co. had opened negotiations to bring the 25-year-old in for next season.
From here, confirmation swiftly followed that an agreement had been found, over a transfer worth a fee in the region of €80 million.
Gordon was subsequently spotted touching down in Barcelona on Thursday, before undergoing a medical and penning his contract to join Hansi Flick’s ranks.
And as alluded to above, 24 hours on, the England international’s Blaugrana arrival has been made official.
As per a statement across Barca’s website and social media platforms:
‘ Barcelona and Newcastle United have reached an agreement for Anthony Gordon to become a blaugrana for the next five seasons.’
