New suitor emerges in race for outbound Atlético Madrid star

A fresh suitor have positioned themselves in the race to sign Atlético Madrid star Mario Hermoso.

The outfit in question? Inter Milan.

Hermoso, as things stand, is of course primed to bring his five-year stint on Atlético’s books to a close this summer.

As much comes with the stopper’s terms with Diego Simeone’s side due to expire, and little progress having been made in negotiations between the parties towards a renewal.

The brass at the Wanda Metropolitano, though keen to keep hold of Hermoso, are understood to be unwilling to match the contract demands laid out by his representatives.

Unsatisfied with as much, Hermoso is therefore readying himself for an imminent exit.

To date, a whole host of clubs have been tipped as potential landing spots for the 28-year-old, with the likes of West Ham United and Juventus both keen admirers.

And, as alluded to above, this weekend, a new name has entered the fray.

As per a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, cited by Mundo Deportivo, Serie A leaders Inter Milan have set their sights firmly on the services of the Spaniard.

In fact, Hermoso is singled out as the Nerazzurri’s leading target to reinforce the club’s defensive ranks with a view to next season.

This comes after the brass at San Siro were left thoroughly impressed by the stopper’s performances in their recent Champions League double header with Atlético.
