Napoli make contact for Granada goalkeeper Luís Maximiano

According to Marca, Napoli have approached Granada for goalkeeper Luís Maximiano.

Maximiano’s release clause went from €25 million to €12.5 million after the club was relegated from La Liga.

The Andalusian club are reportedly willing to negotiate a loan deal with Napoli that would include an obligation to buy for around €10 million if Granada don’t get promoted next season.

Maximiano arrived from Sporting CP last summer and quickly became Granada’s number one after his €4.5 million move.

He was impressive in his debut season in Spain despite being part of a struggling Granada side for most of the 2021-22 campaign.

The young shot-stopper’s performances for Granada last season have seen him being linked with a move away from Los Cármenes.

Granada’s second-choice goalkeeper Aarón Escandell is very close to accepting an offer from Cartagena in search of the opportunities he has been denied at Granada, another move that would force the club to look for replacements in goal.
