Napoli handed triple injury boost as squad named for Barcelona clash

Serie A giants Napoli have this evening unveiled the club’s travelling squad to face off against Barcelona.

And the panel of players will no doubt be met with a collective smile on the part of the Napoli faithful.

This comes amid confirmation that three members of Francesco Calzona’s ranks to have been labelled as doubts in the buildup to the clash have all been included in the party bound for Spain.

The trio in question? Amir Rrahmani, Jens Cajuste, and Cyril Ngonge.

As late as Sunday, defender Rrahmani, midfielder Cajuste and attacker Ngonge remained absent from group training alongside the rest of the Partenopei’s squad.

This came as the three continued to work through respective injury concerns.

Rrahmani’s absence came as a particular worry, with the Kosovo national team captain representing an integral figure at the heart of Napoli’s backline.

But, evidently, the 30-year-old, alongside both Cajuste and Ngonge, has been deemed well enough to make the trip to Montjuïc, for the 2nd leg of the club’s Champions League Last-16 showdown with the aforementioned Barcelona.
