Napoli boss Calzona tips Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal to become ‘the best in the world’

Napoli head coach Francesco Calzona has this evening moved to reveal his admiration for Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal.

This, of course, comes as his side finalise preparations to attempt to contain the explosive attacker on Tuesday night.

Napoli and Barcelona will go head-to-head in 24 hours’ time, in the 2nd leg of the Champions League Last-16 tie between the clubs.

Lamine, for his part, is expected to be utilised from the off at Montjuïc, fresh off a match-winning display en route to the Blaugrana’s La Liga downing of Mallorca last Friday night.

And, safe to say, those in the visitors’ camp will be fully aware of the extent of the challenge on their hands in keeping Barca’s latest breakthrough talent quiet.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Monday, the aforementioned Francesco Calzona was asked for his take on Lamine’s abilities.

And the Italian was not at all hesitant in revealing his opinion that, should he continue along his current path, the 16-year-old possesses everything required to develop into world football’s standout player:

“Lamine Yamal has the quality to become the best player in the world. He is very young and seems like an expert. He has everything to be a world top player.”
