Marcelo in talks with Las Palmas

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Las Palmas are interested in signing Marcelo.

Marcelo departed Real Madrid at the end of last season following the expiration of his contract with Los Blancos.

The 34-year-old has entered talks with the club based in the Canaries regarding a potential contract.

During this transfer window, Marcelo has also been heavily linked with Nice, who will be competing in the Europa League. However, the opportunity to join Las Palmas will allow the Brazilian full-back to continue playing in the country where he has been living for the past 15 years.

Las Palmas narrowly missed out on getting promoted last season. Marcelo’s experience and footballing qualities could prove to be key in helping the club return to La Liga.

Real Madrid have kept the door open for Marcelo to stay at the Spanish champions, but not in a playing capacity. He turned down the offer and is continuing to look for opportunities to begin his next chapter in his professional playing career.
