Man City respond to Barcelona’s latest Rodri bid

The brass at Premier League giants Manchester City have issued an official response to Barcelona, regarding their latest offer for midfield standout Rodri.

This comes amid confirmation that the Blaugrana have again seen their advances rebuffed.

Midfielder Rodri has of course taken his place front and centre in the media headlines surrounding Hansi Flick’s Barcelona over the course of the last week.

After the player himself made clear his preference for a move to the Camp Nou over Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu, those in a position of power at the former quickly set about making the transfer a reality.

An agreement on the terms of a contract is already in place between the parties, with Deco and his team of directors now working to find a similar accord with Manchester City.

To date, however, no such deal has been struck. And as alluded to above, on Thursday, Barca have seen their 2nd official proposal for Rodri rejected. As per a report from transfer journalist Ben Jacobs:

‘Barcelona’s second bid of around £55m (€64m) for Rodri has been rejected by Manchester City as talks continue.’
