Since Lionel Messi’s first appearance for Barcelona against Real Madrid in November 2005, the Blaugrana captain has racked up a few Clásico records, and is set to add another on Saturday.

Having already scored more goals (26) and supplied more assists (14) than any other player in Clásico history, the Argentine forward will draw level with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos as the fixture’s highest ever appearance maker if he plays as expected in Madrid this weekend.

Ramos will miss the much anticipated fixture because of a calf injury suffered after Spain’s 3-1 win over Kosovo.
