Leeds United considered Raúl as a replacement for Marcelo Bielsa, as reported by Marca.
The Argentinian coach was sacked on 27 February, with the Premier League side five points from the relegation zone.
Days before the final decision was taken, the club’s Italian president, Andrea Radrizzani, was considering the Real Madrid Castilla head coach as a possible replacement for the much-loved Bielsa.
American head coach Jesse Marsch was eventually appointed by Leeds, but Raúl’s name was on their shortlist.
