Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has this week tipped a fellow member of the club’s attacking ranks to go on to enjoy a productive stint in Catalunya’s capital.
The player in question? Hamza Abdelkarim.
Frontman Abdelkarim for his part spent this past summer sparking widespread excitement amongst those of a Barcelona persuasion. After his loan arrival from Al Ahly was made permanent, the Egyptian was afforded the chance to impress at senior level by Hansi Flick in pre-season.
And this is an opportunity which Abdelkarim went on to grasp with both hands, finding the net several times in limited playing time across the Blaugrana’s friendly fixture list.
Such exploits have since culminated in a La Liga debut, as excitement surrounding the talents of a player still just 18 years of age continues to mount.
Speaking during an interview with On Sport (as cited by Diario Sport) early this week, the aforementioned Lamine Yamal was therefore drawn on the name of his breakthrough teammate. And the World Cup winner was full of praise in his response:
“He is a player with a bright future ahead of him. He’s still young and has all the qualities to be a great striker. I think he will make the most of his time in the team and score a lot of goals.
“We have all seen it; He is a striker who scores a lot of goals. He will benefit from the time he plays at Barcelona. He is a very adaptable player. We make a great team. We always try to make him feel comfortable.”
