Karim Benzema: “I’m going to retire at Real Madrid.”

Karim Benzema has no doubts about what is left of his career.

“I’m going to retire at Real Madrid, there’s no other option,” the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner told Onda Cero.

On Ronaldo Nazario

“Ronaldo was happy because he knows he is my model, he was happy.”

On the new season

“I arrived at pre-season late, after a month-long injury. I lost time and I need time to get up to speed. But I have confidence and conviction and I know that little by little I’m going to do as well as I did last year.”

On Cristiano Ronaldo

“It was an honour to play with him, he’s a beast. Since he left I’ve been motivated to do more on the pitch.”

Benzema had a remarkable 2021-22 campaign, scoring 44 goals for Real Madrid, including 27 in La Liga, where he was the top scorer.

As well as his 27 goals, he registered 12 assists in La Liga last season. The Frenchman netted 15 times in the Champions League and also stuck twice in the Spanish Super Cup.
