Jules Koundé could recover in time from his injury to face Real Madrid in El Clásico, report AS.
As communicated earlier, Koundé suffered an injury in France’s Nations League match against Austria. Initial assessments carried out by the French national team’s medical staff predicted that he would be sidelined for a month.
The 23-year-old travelled back to Barcelona, where further tests were carried out. According to the latest assessments, he has a tear in the femoral biceps of his left leg. Based on this, Barcelona’s medical team believe that he could recover in as little time as three weeks, which could make him available to play in El Clásico.
Since the first El Clásico of this season is scheduled to take place on the 16th of October, it would be the first game he would be available for. Nonetheless, Koundé told Xavi to save him a place in the team as he is eager to play.
